This policy covers taxclosers.com ("TaxClosers", "we", "us"), a lead store for tax resolution firms, and the consumer requests it sells. TaxClosers is run by CloserDrop LLC, an Illinois limited liability company.
1. What we collect
From consumers who ask for help with a tax debt (TaxTruce and our lead partners):
Name, phone, email, ZIP, city and state.
Answers about their taxes: about how much they owe, who they owe, whether returns are filed, any letter code, anything happening now (like a garnishment or a levy), and income type.
Proof of the request: date, time, page, IP address, and the consent words agreed to.
Call recordings and transcripts if they call our phone line, with notice at the start of the call.
We never collect Social Security numbers, bank or card numbers, dates of birth or IRS logins from consumers.
From public records, for data leads: names, mailing addresses and the public lien or filing details in the record.
From tax firms that use TaxClosers:
Name, firm legal name, credential type, number and issuing state, email, phone, billing details (cards are handled by our payment processor, we never see the full card number).
Logins, IP address, device and browser info, purchases, lead views, downloads and dials.
Records of the terms you accepted, and any complaints about your firm.
2. How we use it
To connect consumers with tax resolution firms that can help them.
To check that buyers have the credentials they say they have.
To run, secure and improve our sites.
To bill buyers, stop fraud, handle complaints and answer payment disputes.
To follow the law and keep records the law requires.
3. Who we share it with
Consumer lead information is sold or shared with the tax resolution firms that buy it in TaxClosers. Every firm that can get a consumer request is listed on taxtruce.com. A lead may go to more than one firm. This is a "sale" under some state privacy laws.
Service providers who work for us: our payment processor and our hosting, text code, phone and email providers. They may only use the data to serve us.
Courts, regulators, card networks and banks when the law requires it or to answer a dispute.
A buyer of our business, if we sell it.
4. Your choices and rights
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information: use the link at the bottom of every page, or email privacy@taxclosers.com. We stop selling your information and tell the firms that bought it to stop contacting you.
Stop calls or texts in any words that make it clear: tell the firm, reply STOP to a text, or use the link above. We honor it within 10 business days.
Depending on your state (including California, Texas, Vermont, Florida, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon and others), you may ask to know, get a copy of, correct, or delete your information, and opt out of sale, sharing, targeted ads and profiling. We answer within 45 days. We will not treat you differently for using these rights. You may use an authorized agent. You may appeal a denial by emailing privacy@taxclosers.com.
We do not sell data leads about California consumers.
We honor Global Privacy Control signals from your browser as an opt out of sale and sharing.
5. How long we keep it
Consumer lead records are deleted 730 days after the request date. We keep only the date, lead type, state and sale history needed for tax and legal records.
Buyer account records are kept while the account is open and for 6 years after, for tax, legal, complaint and dispute records.
6. Security
We use encryption in transit, access limits, admin only access to consumer contact details, and audit logs. No system is perfect. If a breach affects you, we will tell you and the regulators the law requires.
7. Children
Our sites are not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
8. Changes
We will post changes here with a new date. Big changes will be shown on the site or emailed to buyers.
